Pasco County sheriff asks drivers to stay off roads
Following Hurricane Helene, many streets in Pasco, Hernando Beach, Spring Hill, and Crystal River remain underwater.
If possible, law enforcement asks drivers to avoid the areas due to multiple road hazards, including downed powerlines, trees, and standing water.
The Pasco County Sheriff's Office, said, "The Pasco Sheriff’s Office is honored to serve and protect our community. Approximately 200 people were rescued from rising water in Pasco County overnight in a joint partnership with Pasco County Fire Rescue, the National Guard, and other law enforcement partners."
To help prevent injury or death, the power has been intentionally shut off in areas where the water has not receded.
