Lakeland, Florida --  A McDonald's drive-thru employee is behind bars after she pulled a gun on a customer and opened fire. According to the Lakeland Police Department, the incident took place Friday, June 14 during breakfast hours. Police said that Chassidy Gardner, 22, became upset after a customer pointed out that their food order was wrong. When the customer said something, Gardner threw drinks at the customer through the drive-thru window. One of the customers then opened the window, reached inside, and began throwing cups at the employees. Surveillance video shows that Gardner exchanged more words with the customer before retreating outside. Inverness, Florida -- On April 8, 2024, Citrus County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) deputies were dispatched to the Inverness Walmart in reference to a shooting. According to witnesses, the shooting occurred in the parking lot. When deputies arrived, they discovered that the suspect, later identified as Gavin Minden, had fled the scene on foot. CCSO’s Aviation Unit was then deployed to assist in the search for Minden. Minden was located hiding near the edge of the woods on the west side of Lowes. Surveillance footage showed the victim’s truck approaching the bus stop at Walmart and stopping near it. The Hernando County Sheriff's Office announced that two Citrus County corrections officers have been arrested. The arrests follow an investigation into the two corrections officers who had been suspected of selling narcotics. The corrections officers had also sold fentanyl to undercover detectives. According to reports, the Hernando County Sheriff's Vice and Narcotics unit served a search warrant at a Royal Highlands residence located in Brooksville. The two corrections officers, Matthew Devorak and Michael Smith were both present during the execution of the search warrant. Smith was found to be in possession of fentanyl and drug paraphernalia. Orange County -- The state attorneys announced that a trial date has been set for Stephan Sterns, the suspect wanted in connection with the disappearance of 13-year-old Madeline Soto. Sterns’ arraignment is scheduled for April 2 while his jury trial jury trial has beenscheduled for May 13. According to Kissimmee police, her body was found in a wooded area near Hickory Tree Road. Motorcycle rider lives up to his license plate, runs from deputies

Florida --  A motorcycle rider lived up to his license plate when he led Volusia county deputies on a high speed chase. According to the arrest affidavit, the chase reached speeds above to 145 mph. Deputies said Austin Jarvis, 19,  taunted them as he fled from a traffic stop. More than three agencies participated in the high speed chase including a helicopter. Jarvis is facing a plethora of charges including being in possession of a fraudulent license plate that reads "WILL RUN."
