Winter Haven, Florida — A serious car crash left a 17-year-old boy dead and a 15-year-old girl critically injured Monday afternoon. The crash occurred on Spirit Lake Road south of Oakwood Estates Community around 3:06 p.m. The Polk County Sheriff's Office and Polk County Fire Rescue responded to the scene. Upon arrival, responders found the two teenagers trapped inside a white 1994 Chevrolet pickup truck. According to law enforcement, the 17-year-old driver passed away at the scene. The 15-year-old passenger suffered serious head trauma, a brain bleed, lung damage, facial fractures, and multiple broken bones. Tampa, Florida --   A University of Tampa student is accused of wrapping her baby girl in a towel and dumping it in a garbage bin on campus. The baby was found by another student who then notified the Tampa Police Department Sunday night at approximately 7 p.m. near McKay Hall. Authorities located the mother and transported her to a nearby hospital. Florida  - Four teens  -- ages 14 to 16 -- are dead following a high-speed chase in Waldo. The incident started when an SUV was stolen in Gainesville and later seen after a license plate scanner detected the stolen vehicle. When an Alachua County sheriff's deputy confirmed the vehicle was stolen he attempted to make a traffic stop. The teen driving the SUV slowed down but then fled the scene. According to reports, the deputy said he could tell that there were multiple occupants in the stolen vehicle. Florida --  A motorcycle rider lived up to his license plate when he led Volusia county deputies on a high speed chase. According to the arrest affidavit, the chase reached speeds above to 145 mph. Deputies said Austin Jarvis, 19,  taunted them as he fled from a traffic stop. More than three agencies participated in the high speed chase including a helicopter. Jarvis is facing a plethora of charges including being in possession of a fraudulent license plate that reads "WILL RUN."
