Sportsmen’s Bowling Center, AKA Tipsy Bull one step closer to becoming a gun range

Citrus County — Sportsmen’s Bowling Center, AKA Tipsy Bull, located at 100 N Florida Ave, Inverness, FL, has been on the market for several months and is now under contract.

State records show that the company attempting to get Sportsmen’s Bowl rezoned is a part of the 2nd Amendment Armory gun store located in Brandon, FL.

According to Citrus County records, 3CAGuys, LLC, on behalf of Sportsman Bowl, has requested a Planned Unit Development (PUD2024-00004) to allow a shooting range and gun store at the current location.

Bay Action News has learned that the company will meet with the county’s Planning and Development Commission on June 6. Commissioners said that on August 6, 2024, the rezoning request will go before county commissioners for final review.

Management of the bowling alley initially denied that the business was up for sale despite that the alley was publicly listed in the MLS system.

The state of Florida has the business registered under The Tipsy Bull, however, the name was changed to Sportsmen’s Bowling Center, LLC on January 30, 2024.. Joseph Chavez is listed as the owner. Neither Chavez nor his management informed employees that they would be losing their jobs.

The question on everyone’s mind is: Will the county approve the change?
